Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Foundation Announces '21 Days to Be Kind' Challenge

Practice acts of kindness, win tickets to a concert

August 14, 2019

Lady Gaga has something she wants her fans to do for her, and it’s not that difficult. The pop star’s Born This Way Foundation is launching its second annual 21 Days to Be Kind challenge.

The idea is to practice an act of kindness every day from September 1 through September 21. The reward will be the smiles you get in return, but participants also have a chance to see the “Shallow” singer live in concert.

Those who take the pledge and share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #BeKind21 will be entered to win two tickets to an upcoming Lady Gaga show and various other prizes.

Organizers say the goal of 21 Days to Be Kind is to encourage young people, families, employers, and teachers to get in the habit of bringing people together in a mentally healthy environment.

“We were overwhelmed by last year’s response to our #BeKind21 Challenge. This year, we hope to build on the excitement we saw from thousands of people and dozens of partner organizations,” said Cynthia Germanotta – Lady Gaga’s mom and co-founder of Born This Way. “Kindness is a simple yet powerful practice. That’s why we’re inviting everyone to join us in establishing kinder habits and building a culture of kindness by putting it into action each day from September 1st to September 21st – being kind to your body, mind, and community.”

More than 80 schools and organizations are partnering on the challenge including Starbucks, Verizon, the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles LGBT Center and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. You can take the pledge right here.

Lady Gaga also recently promised her support to communities affected by mass shootings. Born This Way and DonorsChoose are partnering to fund classrooms in Dayton, El Paso and Gilroy, CA.
